The digital servos is a nice upgrade to the complete system which we are please with. We could have increase the cost but figured it was a nice upgrade to the system so we left the cost the same. As always we will try to increase quality as we go.

I understand that, but so soon after release? I would have purchased that combo at additional cost. Now if I want to upgrade, it will cost more, and I would have 2 servos collecting dust, and removing them, balancing, and setup. Just my opinion.

Hi,

can anyone share a picture of what connectors(if any) come with the Crack Yak mini Power Combo? I'm trying to build a parts list of what I need to order with the plane...

Thanks,
Chris

It's plug n play. The motor ESC combo is one unit so no need for bullet connectors and it comes with the JST connector already installed.

Hard to see on the TH website photo, but there is a lead that plugs into the unit that connects it to your RX too.

Here's a better pic...

Aparrently my cable internet doesn't like the cold to well either. Let's see how long it last this time.

More flights in on the mini. The usual Kamikaze stuff, tree landings, roofs, and all the furniture in my living room. The screen on my tv hates me about now, scratch marks that I need to buff out. All in all this is a real fun beast to fly.

I checked the cg on it again and it's spot on. I narrowed the culprit to the elevator being slightly bent, one side straight the other twisted. Thinking about adding a bit of carbon to the tail to keep it straight, though I'll just keep an eye on it for now.

Great videos guys keep em coming!

Hahaha! Priceless. I'm glad to hear someone has similiar flight skills as I do. It's good to know I'm not alone.

I noticed my mini was a bit "Twisted" after my build was complete, even with building it on a flat surface. After it sat for day in a nice warm room it seems to have straightened itself out some though.

Has anyone tried an "aternative method" for pushrod guides? Mine move freely through the guides, but I think they could move better with a different setup. I think if I run across them again, I'm going to try nab some of the very thin coffee straws/stirrers and see how well the rod fits through there... and maybe just attach that to small piece of epp in a place or two. Anyone have any thoughts?

I hang mine from the prop when not in use, this seems to keep them straight.

Personally I wouldn't mess with the pushrod guides. As long as you have them all lined up and square they work great. I found on my mini that they were too short so I had to extend the guides to keep the pushrod straight.

When ever I fly in the living room I drape a blanket over the tv. I wouldn't be too happy if I broke it but it wouldn't make much difference because the mrs and kid would likely kill me anyway.

Thanks for the information. Now I have another question. What mode should I set....DSM2 or DSMX? I am using the HK orange RX if that makes any difference.
Thanks,
Joe

Sorry that I forgot to include that in my original reply.

The HK OrangeRX is DSM2 only so you will use DSM2. Your DX8 will auto-set it at DSM2 when you bind the RX to it.

Remember to put bind plug in RX and then power up the RX. Next... hold down the bind button on your DX8 when you power on the TX. Hold the button until it says it is binding.

Power everything down. Remove bind plug. Setup your plane and then do a re-bind again after all your settings are complete.

JC

ps - Then get Twisted... fly the snot out of your new plane.

I sure was looking for a digital combo when I ordered. I would have paid more for it in a heart beat.

JC with my Dx8 I had to set it to dsm2 in the radio before I could get the rx to work. Not sure if Mof might have to do the same. Just throwing that out in case some one has to do it like I did.

Had digital servo' been available when I ordered I'd have went digital for sure, but no complaints here. You have to love any company that continually improves their products and one can't expect them to provide upgrades to those who already purchased. The analog are working well 20 flights in and if they start having issues I'll just order up the digital ones to try

I put on a 6030 this morning for a few flights. Has anyone else tried it? I was flying in my front yard which is pretty small with lots of stuff to hit. It's pretty smooth on the power, and worked very well.
