H9 Carden 89" Extra electric?

Anyone out there do a H9 Carden 89" Extra with electric power, I am considering the Carden with a Rimfire 65CC motor on 12S through a CC160 esc, does anyonr know the length of the standoffs needed to match up to the cowl?

I have the H9 Extra with an EME 60cc and the E-flite Power 360. Haven't made up may mind yet. I have everything for the gasser setup. If I go electric it would be 12S, CC 180HV ESC, 5000 Mah 6S Lipo (2). It would be a while before I had everything else for the electric setup. Either one will be a great setup.

I did not know CC did a 180 amp speed control, what is the model name? I just ordered the Carden extra.

Sorry about that. It's a 160 not 180.

I'm going to guess will need to measure the motor length to the prop base then mock up the cowl in place and measure the actual distance.
Just thinking this will give you the easiest solution for a perfect fit

Since the Extra is built around the DA 60 (same dimensions as my EME 60) the dimension from the engine box to the back of the spinner back plate would be 6.288". The ARF gives you 1" blocks that are sandwiched between the engine box and the engine so if you used the blocks it would be 1" less. Measure your motor and subtract that from the 6.288" and the rest is your stand-offs.

Great. I think you'll like what you see in the box. Setting next to my 50cc YAK 55 the Extra 300 is a lot bigger. I have decided to use my EME 60cc gasser on this one since I already have everything to finish it. I'll save the E-flite Power 360 for a 50cc electric later this summer.

I maidened the Carden today with a 23X10 prop and the plane flew well, my setup needs work but I am disappointed with the 65 rimfire performance on 12S so the prop is not right-----not sure to go to a 23X12 or a 24X10.

I ran mine last year with the Rimfire 65cc with the (LXYCF7 DA 50Mount) with the CC 160 HV on Mejzlik 24x12, 12s 5000mah, Flew great, had some timing issues with CC ESC and Rimfire. This year went with the Power 360, CC 160 HV w/ Fan and same 24x12 prop and 5500mah, flys just as good with out timing issues.

I am using the 160hv with fan as well running a Xoar 23X10 prop, temps after a 6minute flight are 100F with ambient air at 82F so battery power is not an issue, the 65 pulls it just not do what I think it will and i am comparing it to my rimfire 50cc motor that I have in a 30cc Spitfire----both aircraft weights are very close to being the same. I really think it needs more prop.

Prop up to the Xoar 24x12, the Rimfire 65 can handle it.
