as long as its not gear driven like the typhoon I will love it. I love my typhoon but that whine killed me after a couple flights.

Quoting myself after finding out that the ar635 doesn't support separate aileron channels, flapperon, spoileron, vtail, elevon or any other basic function. That detail just spoiled it completely for me. As has been pointed out the price reflects the extra cost of the new technology, which you can understand, but if that technology prevents you from using some of the most basic features of modern computer tx's what's the point? I was almost thinking of getting hold of one just as a way of getting an ar635 and giving the Visionaire a go while I was at it. It is true that if you take into account the separate costs the Visionaire isn't actually that bad. Taking UK prices I've found the BNF package £200 delivered, ar635 £75 delivered, that means the Visionaire minus the ar635 comes in at £125. That's not bad with what we presume are great servo's a decent 40A esc and motor and even a battery and charger. Add to that your chosen cheaper rx and you've lost the as3x but with the wing of the Visionaire I would prefer to have spoileron mixing for parachutes, harriers and tight as knife edge spins. To me the ar635 would be more at home in a similar sized war bird or something that mixing isn't so important, about the only thing you'd need is aileron differential which could be done mechanically. I think Horizon are doing great things but not necessarily in the right order.

I'll pick one up, it should be a popular model, I love parkkflyer 3D planes, and this one looks both capable and gentle. I put rate gyros in a E-flite Yak with better servos, and it has been one of my favorite for the last couple years. They gyros cancel wind, coupling, and smooth transitions for moves like rolling harriers, but slow snappy moves and some spins. They are set up so I can adjust them from the TX and usually fly with low gain, where it just feels like the plane is really stable, the weather is really good, and it is set up perfectly, makes it easier to learn new 3D moves. I do fly a few other 3D planes without gyros too, still fun, and I can progress faster by learning the moves on the gentler Yak first.

Agree - sort of thought that in the outdoor videos --- but wait a minute, flies like my flat foamy, which cost around $135 all decked out, is almost invincible EPP foam, flies on $6 batteries, kinda puts a different light on it when I think about it.
