A bit of a belated reply. A result of an obsession with this model boat maker more than anything else.

For informational purposes and because I had never heard of the Rascal before, I present some photo documentation from Ebay Germany no less. . . .

The model kit you are showing is a scaled version of Ken Bassett’s runabout named “RASCAL”, but drawn up as an inboard power boat instead of an outboard version.

If the dimensions remained the same, it would require a small 4 cylinder in board motor to keep the balance of the boat right with the engine placement being so far forward.

This can be done with care if the conversion from outboard to inboard, or the opposite, inboard to outboard is done carefully and does not upset the balance of the boat and running attitude or attack angle of the planning hull.

That's a neat boat as I don't see much appeal in modern fibreglass boats. It would be such a head turner. Looks feasible even for a neophyte too.
