SkyWalker Revolution 1720

Hi folks,

I'm now on the market for another SkyWalker after retiring my Naja due to it just not satisfying my needs in a FPV plane and am looking at the new SkyWalker Revolution and am wondering if anyone here has hit the buy button yet and can give us some information, hints and tips and possibly a quick review of the plane?

It looks great, and I'm a fan of the removable horizontal stabiliser for ease of traveling with it and I was a huge fan of my original Skywalker's fuselage for those rough landing zones and equipment placement.

The fact it can take up to 12 inch props is a good thing too so I can put a lower Kv motor on and get better efficiency out of it for the longer flights, and the larger wing looks like it can carry the weight I'm wanting to quite easily as well.

So yeah, if you have one or have seen one fly, please let me know what you think of it, and if you think I should stay away from it and go to something else please tell me that too as I havent made the order yet.

Cheers,

Alan.

Some pictures of the plane below.

I'm interested to see how this Skywalker flies. I tried the New Skywalker, with carbon tail, and broke several carbon booms. I ended up buying a thicker carbon boom that I slid and glued inside the original. It worked fine. I ended up retiring the plane, I did not like the lower horz. stabilizer. I fly in hay fields and the lower horz stabilizer would get damaged by landing in grass.

Let me know how it turns out. I love the Skywalker planes.

Looks like they're just getting back to basics.
I like the T tail over the cross, but I'd be a bit concerned about
what looks to be small plastic tabs holding the stab on.

Yeah the tabs will be either a great idea or something that will need reinforcement, either way I will be paying a lot of attention to it to make sure it's rock solid yet still removable cause with my original SkyWalker 1680 I had that was the troublesome part when it came to transporting it.

I'll keep this post up to date and eventually turn it into a build log and review thread.

Cheers,

TS.

That T-tail stab may come with this since it looks weak.
I saw on FPVmodel.com site.

Hey folks, I'm thinking because I run 4s in my bigger planes and will do in this one, I am looking at using a 2830-800kv motor with 12x6 prop, what do you guys reckon? The manufacturer recommends 750kv on that size prop with 4s but I just thought is ask here anyway.

Any videos of this flying? Looking to upgrade from my old 1900mm. I like the big undercamber on the old 1900mm wing, so I am not sure the 1720 is for me, but I see they also have the version with a larger wing, carbon boom and t tail...

Info is tough to find on these new versions!
