yep, way to fast of a motor for a crawler. plus being so small you would have to run it in a mini crawler at best. being an unsensored system, your low speed startup would be horrible and low speed (crawling) throttle control would really suffer.
one of the biggest drawbacks to outrunners in a crawler is the fact that the bell spins. on most MOA rigs the motor can will hit the rocks quite often. this is why you will see guys running delrin covers over the motors to try and keep from damaging the cans as bad. with an outrunner the spinning bell would be smacking against rocks and will damage the bell in short order. in a shafty truck they aren't to bad, but you have to be really careful about mounting other components and wiring so they don't get chewed up by the rotating motor.
for general crawler motors, most people use brushed motors from 35 turn to 55 turns. there are exceptions to this when you get into higher quality handwound motors. you really gotta know alot about the motor builds when you get into this as the different arms, webs, and such can make alot of difference. take the Holmes Hobbies crawlmaster series. the 16t crawlmaster is about equal to a 35 turn torquemaster. but the crawlmaster will have just as good low speed throttle control AND be a faster top end motor. just differences of how the motors are built.
