Noooo! Dropped my 0 hour dx6i!!!!

Hi all. I am an RC newb. I've been learning on a Champ, and yesterday purchased a PZ F4F and a DX6i. I was going to the field today and somehow managed to drop the DX6i in the elevator! I never even got out of the house!
The antenna snapped at the "bend" (the little pin holding the two pieces together seems to have snapped, wire still intact though), the "gear/Fmode" toggle is snapped off, and the trainer switch is jammed/stuck. My 0 hour TX is hooped.
I am gutted beyond belief. I'm extremely careful and picky about my stuff.
I have emailed Horizon to ask about a repair. Or....would I be better off waiting til next year (funds are low) and buying another new Dx6i.
I am located in Canada, don't know if that makes a difference re: repair etc.

Man......what a horrible experience!

Being a fellow Canadian I can tell you just send it in for repair and be honest, You will see why Horizon's Customer service is second to NONE.

Then for Xmas ask for the DX9.

Well after Horizon repairs it invest in a nice metal transmitter case to carry it around in. At least that way you'll be able to get it out of the house before you drop it again!

The antenna is the same as the 5.
The switches are very easy and simple to change if you have a electronics store nearby.

Both parts shouldn't be more that $25.00us.

You can get replacement antennas easily eg on flea bay. Or if its just the joint that broke and the wire is OK, tape the joint.

I was debating repairing it myself, but with that trainer switch jammed the way it is, I'd always be worried it would attempg to bind in the middle of a flight.

It was put in its' box and sent off to Horizon for repair.

Sucks being without it but in the end it's the best thing for it.
