Thanks, I'll stick with Xoar wood for now until I find the right prop size for my flying style/level and I'll move to a carbon prop as an experiment from there. You guys are awesome, thanks again.

if you are talking about 16x8, as far as i remember, someone tried mejzlik gas propeller on torque combo and it pulled too much amps...

My Red White Black 60" Extra had an accident the other day and the left wing (pilot looking out from the cockpit) is beyond my repair skills. Do you have a left wing lying around which is not being used and which you would like to sell?

Anyone have some extra red/white/black wheel pants they would like to sell for less then the new price? Was planning on just sticking with some larger wheels I have but they fling mud on the plane so I need to get some wheel pants to help keep that from happening.

I picked up a noname CF 16x8 prop from HK...it weighed so much I never even tried. It was probably meant for gas.

For those of you using Castle ESCs, are you using the Ice 75, or the Ice Lite 75?

I'm sure the IceLight would be fine. Especially if you are in colder areas.
I have heard of a few catching fire this last year but probably just a fluke.

Getting ready to pull the trigger and buy the 60" extra. I'm fairly new to the hobby, been flying for 10 months, and there's a lot of info to comb thru here. I'm wondering what the best set up for this plane is. I'll probably go with the combo power set up, unless something else is recommended, but not sure on the servos, prop, and lipos. I'm questioning the recommended servos strength on the elevator/rudder. Your guys help would be appreciated.

Get the power combo with torque motor and airboss ESC. For lipos you'll want 6s 3300-3600 and for servos you can go with hs-5245s but if you want extra torque and speed get the hs-7245HV servos. FWIW i have been running 5245s for hundreds of flights with no issues but i recently installed some 7245s on my MXS and they are way better.

Did you put the 7245s all the way around?

Yes, and i ran them on 8 volts. I still have 5245s in my Extra and they're doing great I've just been enjoying the extra speed and torque from the 7245s on my MXS. It's not needed but it makes the plane feel that much better.

Thanks. I'll probably go with the 5245s. Not sure I'm good enough to notice the difference. What size and brand prop do you recommend?

Xoar 15x7, 15x8, or 16x7 if you get the power combo. I usually fly with a 15x8 but it's best to try different props and see what you like best.
