Newbie!

These planes are incredible. I have a larger dlg but am now starting to work no a micro based on micro builders awesome single aileron glider. My wing is coming on nicely given my lack of skill but the electrics are somewhat confusing.

I am looking at picking up a cheap micro reciever (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Orange-4Ch...item27c6286be8)

but am unsure how I connect a 1s lipo to it to power the system. Do i need an esc?

Can anybody advise me on the best way - is it as simple as putting a connecter on the battery that fits directly into the receiver? and if so what would the connecter be called?

Thanks in advance

about 90 mm root chord
trailing edge to elevator ~ 270 mm
elevator: 160 / 50 mm

Boom is a cheap 5 mm cf pultruded tube from the kite shop.
I like the idea of screwing the wing to the boom and to be able
to experiment with different wings or the angle of attack, so that's why.
Spring and fishing line
Rx: Graupner GR-12-SC+ (similar to the AR6300)
Two HK5320
120 mAh LiPo

It's obvious, that I followed Yasu's blogs, but my glider seems to be a miserable copy.

Best regards
Dirk
Hi, what an amazing plane!

I am just starting on my first build and have almost the same electrics as you spare to use on it. How do you connect a 1s lipo to the receiver? it only has sockets for aileron, elevator, throttle and rudder.

here is a link to the receiver if it helps? any advice would be brilliant!

The battery will plug directly into any socket on the receiver, negative to the outside pin.
At these spans a brick would be a lot lighter and probably easier and cheaper.

Here is my scratch built HLG from JR indoor last year.I plan on bringing it this year along with my 700mm "nice" one.

The one in the video is all balsa with a fiberglass fishing pole for the tail boom. Uses Parkzone brick and a 150mAh battery.

JR indoor DLG (1 min 11 sec)

Thanks rusty

Brilliant, thanks for the help rusty. New to this but already found so many helpful people.

Nice glider matt! Starting my own dlg inspired by microbuilder and yasu, with most help coming from rc groups!
