Have a bad feeling about my sled

Or F104
Its 13 inch span profile Im going for full house
operation , got a 40mm fan on the way but testing will be done with a red wonder and a 4.1x4.1 prop

Such a tiny wing , mmmm

Got a steer nose wheel but they dont retract , not much point on a profile as its draggy anyway

I think the 40mm fan will give scale takeoffs and landing , very long ones, thats what I am looking forward to

Which actually brings me to the question or statement , that are you guys taking off the ground , looks like a challenge ------- out of the question ???, ,,,,no

Feeling 2 points better now

Ive got 1.1 gram 30mm dia wheels 1mm wide ,

out of the question for grass or concrete

but Ok on nylon matting , also 1.2mm, piano wire , legs , is about as light as I go without loosing control of the undercart

I have used 40 mm dia wheel on a 1.2 dia, piano wire leg on a slightly bigger model and it feels like landing on a wet runway , it slides in and you need the rudder to correct

The leg bends and the 1mm wide plastic wheel has no traction so your nose wheel and rudder skills have to be good for the landing to come off

Looks good. The fuselage should add lots of lift. So with the light weight I expect it will fly fine.

Yo

Your not a sled driver until you have slid down the runway on your T tail ,

which the sled does quite well

Have to take the hot glue gun out next time , the 5 minute takes too long to dry

Not bad damage just tore one leg off ,on one landing

ripped out nose wheel, on another

bent nose wheel 3 times , crosswind is a real killer with this model

I like it a lot

It characteristics , dont quite know yet

but they are scary to explore , will just do some trimming and see what happens

Ohh

I will have to build another , bigger this time

Can you tell me if just elevons would be OK , save me that linkage to the elevator,

I still need the rudder and nose wheel to takeoff

it does some fun takeoffs when it rolls on takeoff and slides on the T tail

It gets depron burns

And one landing it did 4 bounces , like a jumping bean

Yes about burns
Ive got a nice blister where the hot glue stuck,,, watch that

Yo

One thing it does in a cross wind is rock its wings violently , , in the test of the foamy Banana Hobby one I saw this too

Why

I will ask the flying dynamics people on this RC groups maybe they will know

Had time to think on the crash

I got wing rock in a crosswind then turned downwind at just below full cob

and she stalled ,

I selected burner

but she went in like a drill ,

so unforgiving
