That's a masterly job Joe - especially at that small scale!

The only thing that gives it away as a model is the prop size!

You've shown us some real skill - and it's been good to be along for the ride!

Howdy Joe,

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She really came out way above expectations. Your covering/paint job is also way beyond what I knew could be done at such a small scale. How in the world did you do it? Lots of wine helped, I hope! I surely look forward to seeing this Moth and your Pietenpol Sky Scout builds up close and personal.

Thanks for the magic modeling that you keep performing!

Now, let's go fly the full-size Gipsy Moth NC236K, then celebrate with some wine! Your R/C NC236K is going to look just great in her hangar's display case!

Best Regards and Thanks Again,
Gary Sewall

Looks as if you've been busy in the meantime Joe.

Glad the operation was a success.

I dunno!... This modelling compulsion... it makes us like little kids...
"Oh PLEASE Father! I don't want to go yet - can't I just do one more model? Only one!?..." (With the hope that if He spares us for this one He'll maybe let us do another after that...)
Only difference between us is that your models take a month or two and mine rather longer due to size - well this one anyway is taking an unexpectedly long nine months.

So what's it to be next?

Well I wish you light airs for the expedition.

After two nice flyable days (while I was trying to finish the current build) it has now returned to rain over here. And more wind forecast for the weekend... oh well, that's life! - at least it allowed me to put the beast together outside.

Happy landings!

Hi all! don't know if anyone's still checking in but found this on the free flight thread

Posted by algy2 - Next for something special in the way of full size scale free flight plans for the DE HAVILLAND 60 CIRRUS MOTH.

This was designed by JOHN WATTERS who was very active in scale free flight at the time.

It is based on the aeroplane in the Shuttleworth Trust Collection and has been kept as true to scale as possible. The construction article gives you all you need for building and trimming.

Me again - This a 31" model that seems to be a good candidate for electric conversion, they were presented in AEROMODELLER Jan 1984. Enjoy!

I kinda got diverted by a FunCub adventure for a while but I've regained my senses. I'm currently working on a 1/6th scale D&L Designs Tiger Moth, my thinking was to cut my teeth on it (both building and flying) before I go any further on my enlarged Gordon Whitehead DH.60 build (also to1/6th scale). Hopefully the 'Tiggy' will survive my learning curve and I'll have two de Haviiland aircraft in the hangar! Hmmm, I wonder how big a 1/6th scale DH.103 Hornet would be?? ~ Robin
