Thanks, it's coming along. Just got the top paint done tonight. Once dry I can bring back into the workshop in the house and work on more details and the decals.
I really still want to do a DF as well this size of jet, but the run times, airframe weight, thrust to weight ratio , as well as the efficiency of the pusher is too hard to beat. Once I get it up again I'll get video of it. It's really impressive.

If I decide to wait. I'll need to get my scorpion done this spring. Very much like the other kit I got Starfire-- If I get those done, all I have left to build will be this one--

Did a bit more painting and weathering. The weathering on the top down photo is from the common hydraulic leaks found near the leading edge. I didn't go to crazy on the weathering.

Well I have finished and flown my F14... It went well.
So now that that is finished it's time to start the KPM F18 build. I'll be going through this thread again to pick up tips and tricks for building process. I'm hoping that people still check in on this thread so I can pick their brain now and again.

It's going to be a pusher, 4s like the others have done. No landing gear...belly lander. Yes I will glass it with WBPU. Just using 1/4 oz glass cloth as I have done on other builds. Just enough to keep it a bit tougher to handling and such, yet keep the weight down.
Not sure of the livery yet. The Canadiens have some of the best looking color schemes, but I have also always been partial the the Blue Angels colors also. I did my first F18 in the Blue Angels colors.
I'm not a fast builder but I plug along.

Your Bug is looking great man. This bird flys so nice and sweet nobody should have any fears when maidening this bird. A couple things to be aware of if hand launching though. This is a high lift fuselage and much more than a level throw and you run the risk of a stall. If its thrown real hard the nose wants to lift and there you go trying to force it down with elevator and power. If a tab is built on the CG this bird can be thrown just like a large paper airplane. The pusher prop will have more than enough power to get away on 3/4s throttle. The nose wants to drop in the turns so make em wide and smooth and she'll come around looking pretty. Now I've put rudders on mine and this really helps when attempting to get that nose in the air doing high alpha moves. Also it's that fuselage that really helps get it up there! I like to slow down then gun it and back off immediately to raise that nose. Elevator, aileron and especially rudders all play major rolls here all the while managing throttle. The fellas thought I was having troubles till I told them I was goofing around. Honestly I can't wait to get back out to fly it. So much fun.

The first and second flights on mine were right around 5 mins. But lots of full throttle in that time. It's such a floater that I could extend that a bit.
