Devo f12E

I would like to know if anyone has information if the Devo F12E transmitter can be used to fly airplanes especially the plug in play types that need a receiver. Some questions is what is a type of devo receiver would be best with a plane with retracts and flaps [devo 1202]. Also can anyone help with the installation and adjustments that radio uses. I had used the radio for quadcopters but subsequently have become interested in airplanes and was wondering about using it since it can control a number of models
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated
