Spitfire, yes. Mine is probably the 2nd best flier I have, right behind my old, beat-up 750mm P47, and after the Spitfire is my 800mm BF109...the rest are a bit of a challenge with no wind...

I posted over on Motion's forum reference availability. Should be back in stock in 2-5 weeks, depending on what container it's in...

Diamond Hobby also carries the 800mm Spit, but sold out as well... MotionRC has been great so far though...

Yeah, I checked Diamond too. I prefer to buy from Motion, so I'll wait. I did find one for the same price with free shipping from another online retailer I've never heard of. Thought about it, but I'd like to stay loyal to Motion RC.

As an aside, I also asked if it was discontinued. Tom said not yet, but it is scheduled to be. I also asked about new future 800's, but he didn't address it.

Just curious, why do you prefer MotionRC over Diamond?

They are a local, Veteran owned company, mostly. Their service is stellar, but so is Diamonds, AFAIK. Motion RC has always taken care of me, including two warranty issues.

I feel they've earned my loyalty...

FMS recommends both Diamond and MotionRC for quality customer service and AFAIK, Diamond is also "local".

Diamond probably imports more FMS/ROC ($ wise) as I heard they also distribute to LHS.

I suppose Vet-owned is a big draw for patriotic Americans and freedom loving Canucks, eh?

I have ordered from MotionRC and as you all know, they were excellent to deal with.

I will try Diamond next time because I have already been talking to Jim and he responds super quick to inquiries and their reputation is as solid as MotionRC's.

I've bought many parts and two planes from motionrc... in my experience;

1. fantastic customer service
2. veteran owned
3. free shipping for orders over $100
4. located far north (for you canucks)
5. fast order fulfillment

Ok..... been flying the V2 P-51 for a short while, so here are some comments;

1. The plane is beautiful.... from spinner to rudder, it is such a good looking plane.

2. I added flaps before I flew it and oh my are they super effective. (BTW my p-51's AUW is around 17oz). I flew it around with about 15% flaps the entire last flight and she was perfectly happy flying really really really slow in nearly nonexistent winds. I was so pleased.

3. Its difficult to get the center of gravity to spec without adding weight... I succeeded but come on FMS there is all kind of room in this bird.

4. The elevator should span the entire horizontal stabilitzer to help recover from those oh sh__ moments... pretty sure it's not scale either. The connector for the elevator halves flexes a lot until the foam hinge is exercised for a bit so I did that before I flew it.... but it's A WHOLE LOT better than the long weight of a second pushrod.

5. The landing gear mounts are falling out....again, come on FMS.

Love the plane, glad I bought it, good deal, glad I have experience setting planes up because it needed some tweaks. FMS should provide flap servo pockets molded into the wings FWIW.

As I think of other things I'll revisit this post.

Diamond Hobby rocks! I get parts I need within 4 days from those guys...never waited longer than 4 days, and if something's hokey, they'll replace it free, but then, MotionRC does too, they both get my business...
