Yeah the stab does move around quite a bit. If the building weather keeps up I may have to mod that, but if the weather breaks I may just hit it with the CA.

The cabin fever has led to a whole lot of Sharpie madness here I wanted to do something ''Dream Flight'' inspired as i'm really taken with Michael's design... I, ah...just hope this doesn't scare anybody Can't wait to see what the birds think.

aftica, that looks great! Do you put anything over it to keep the sharpie from rubbing off?

I did a bald eagle theme on my alula with sharpies and used a little water based varnish to protect where I hold it for launching.

That looks fantastic! Nice job!

My dual order #1082 just arrived
Do I take that second one to SEFF or not....??!
Tonight I'll find out what shape the 4 Hitecs are in... and decide if D47s are needed.. fingers crossed.
As someone else pointed out, building weather is planned for the foreseeable future here anyway.

Aftica,
That is some sweet, sweet personalization of the Libelle.
Did you hand draw all that?

D. Forbes....

How are you putting the Monokote on.......low temp iron or solvent? I would think either would be bad for the foam.

Wow with an 11 g stab no wonder these need 20 g nose. I am pretty sure some guy is already cutting foam to bag some aftermarket tail feathers. Sounds like it will be easy to shave all the ballast off.
On another note. Are any of these bad servos from the 58 kits Df had in stock? I was order 1058 and they ran out and were only able to ship one set.

The defective hitec servos were from different vendors.

It's the self adhesive trim sheet. I spray the wing with water so I can reposition if needed, then squeegee it down. It needed something so I could tell top from bottom at altitude.

Unfortunately my Libelle is down until I can get a replacement HS35. Mine came from Servo city by the way. I installed some Bue Arrow 4.3 POS servos in the wing since they fit without having to move too much foam, and it flys, but I no longer have full flap extension as they just aren't up to the task.

I flew it again this morning, this time in 10mph winds, with somewhat sparse lift with less success than yesterday. With the wind it really tries to turn itself into a pretzel when I release. In my expert opinion the vertical is too small, the boom to floppy for the wing area, and the wing has little torsional resistance. That said, once you get it up it's a sweet bird.

Just out of curiosity, is anyone sending this feedback to Dream Flight?
