Ok Got everything balanced more or less...had to had weight in the tail as well as the rx battery..still in the max TOW!!!! Anyway.. got decals from Callie Graphics and I have been really unhappy with the purchase!! Got them in the mail box and they were soaked!! She never bothered to put them in a plastic sheet! Some of them were ruined but she completely wrong the writing and the colours for the "air Intake" "rescue" and all the transparent writing...at least the roundels and the squadron insignia were ok!
Send her an e-mail but she never even bother to answer...anyway now I need to be brave and throw this 2000$ bird up in the air....

better get some stick time ,before you fly it .the best tip i can give is let it roll as long as you can ,hope you have a paved or real short grass to fly from. just dont yank it off the ground before its ready to fly .there very smooth flyers .good luck.

Great job

Looks awesome. Your stabs look like there in the trim position for flight. What Rodger said let SLUF get up to speed and ROG. Should look awesome in flight.

Good luck with your maiden.

Be sure to take the pylons off for the first couple flights, that will reduce weight and drag.
Keep the rudder travel really small for the first couple flights and don't commit till the wind is perfect. You'll do great! I flew mine last weekend and am loving it!

are you sure that those pylons are really so bad?
Does any one flies with the tanks underneath?

Fab,

Nice work on the SLUF, it looks great! The pylons are fairly neutral to the airplane, but not a bad idea to work up to flying with them. They do increase the side area of the airplane which really comes into play with cross-winds, etc. Also, as Brian mentioned flying without them initially will reduce the drag, so if there are any issues that arrise on the first flight (I'm sure there won't be), you're in a cleaner aircraft configuration. My dad flew the Desert Storm A-7 with the tanks a number of times. Interestingly, on this airplane they don't change the appearance in flight hugely compared to other airplanes I've seen fly with tanks.

Good luck on the maiden! Be sure when to CG the aircraft simply by picking up the airplane by the leading edge sawtooth with your figertips. Ignore the dimension that is given in the instructions (it's not the correct dimension). Also, the starting position for neutral elevator should carry about 1-2 degrees up elevator.

Bri

What size packs are you running with the TJ-100? Also did you make full ducting for the 100 or is it open. Just a thought. I have mine and would like to fly it more than I do now. I have a 100 ready to put into action so just wondering how you mounted things. Looks good and the performance seemed great. Those gasser man, I'm trying to hear my fan. LOL.

Jeff,

I am using tams ducting and 4000mah packs, The flights are not that long 3:30-4min but it flys good at this weight and I normally accomplish want I want with this model in that time frame, I can post some pics for you when I get home. I would like to experiment with a gyro on it, I know that Neil put a gyro on his a few years ago and he said it helped it track better in the wind.

Does anyone know where to get an ARF? I had emailed JHH and they said it would be unlikely they would be able to get any more from China.
