Out of the box light enough .. as I said FAST and FURIOUS , that is how this heli has been designed with 3 preset head speeds ( the highest speed at 5,000 revs).
Also, the tail has been redesigned , it is MUCH beefier than the equivalent 130X tail , the front and rear gears are identical so less part count. This is NOT an indoor heli, unlike the Nano CPS which in Standard mode flies around like a butterfly.
I have one of each ( at least ).. Total different animals.

I had mine out Thursday, it is my warm up bird before hitting the 300x and 450 3D. I like how smooth this heli flies. For me, I like having an open space for big air cruising around, better than a confined front yard which is my other "flying field"

I still fly V1 with HH FAI body kit. V2 is newest of my Mcp-X's. I use them indoors mostly and fly once in awhile. The V1 was my first Blade c/p. That and WK Genius c/p flew before the rest. I have two of each V1's/ V2's and two Genius c/p's. I will keep them even till their final flights. no time soon. When they give up go into display case.

I flew mine on Thurs. For Thanksgiving. Only had 2 batteries but it was nice to fly in a huge corn field instead of the small field surrounded by trees I'm used to. Everything went great, till I crashed it the next day :-\ . But about to put her back together again today for a Friday fight tomorrow.
Now it's time to find something larger I can see easier in the air and crashes decently.

Ha! Put a 450 in the dirt, you will know you crashed something after spending $100 on parts and a weeks worth of work getting back in the air again. That is one thing I love about this little mcpx v2, hit the dirt, pick it up and just keep going.

I know this is an old thread, but I plan on picking up a used mcpx and was wondering about some brushless options. I would like a main motor that does well with the stock tail motor. I think they used to be c05m motors or something like that. Do people still sell those motors or are they too old now? thanks

Is this thread talking about the mCPX BL as well? Kind of odd there's a whole section devoted to the mCPX at Helifreak that's pretty busy, but only a few rather inactive threads on it here.

Anyway, there's not much option for a brushless motor on the mCPX without changing out the frame with one that can accept an outrunner as opposed to the inrunner blade uses either brushed on the V2 or brushless on the BL.

You can find frames at the usual suspects, Rakonheli, Microheli, Xtreme. I'm using a Microheli X-frame myself and I'm pretty happy with it. In any case, they aren't cheap. When you start buying aftermarket parts for these helis it's no cheaper than a 450. Though you can't fly a 450 in your front yard. It's kind of crazy how much they charge for aftermarket parts on these small helis, but on the other hand it's all low production stuff so it's not profitable if they don't charge some kind of premium for it.

C05 motors are around Wow hobbies may have them. Oversky has esc's. Conversion will run about $50.00 $60.00. You do not see these sold often in classified section. H/K might have better deal. Main reason I never converted any of mine. What you put onto it will never get any kind of return. When Nano CP-X came out <Mcp-X V1/ V2 were pushed aside.

oh trust me, i'd rather have a ncpx, but I haven't seen too many in the classifieds lately either. There was a great deal a few days ago, but that was gone fast. Wowhobbies is about 10 minutes away from my house. I checked the website and the c05 is for the genius cp. Would that work ok, or would I need to re-solder the connectors?

the deal i'm looking at comes with an extra mcpx board and an esc, but I'm not sure which esc it is.

There is alot of info in this thread. I have not done anything with mine.
I have two good flyers and two that need new motors. I fly them once in awhile indoors and fine. Having two Nano CP-X bl no need for upgrades.

Mine is a pure stocker, except for the longer tail boom. I still love buzzing it around, but can't do inverted with it, or very difficult to do cause the battery/motor just don't have the umph without bogging down.

Right now mine is sitting on the shelf waiting for me to put in a new feathering shaft. Last time out mine split after I manage to hit myself in the back with the heli Yeah I know, shouldn't happen, but I tend to goof around with this heli a lot, and was in high winds, so had some exceptional speed runs going and didn't get the turn in place in time. That is the nice thing of micros, they don't kill, just maybe sting a little if you get hit.
