Weights as is is around 255gr. I haven´t had the courage to take the plane into the kitchen to weigh, so I´ve used and old letterscale......

I had total confidence in my pylon attachment, but thats history!!!!!

Dispite the heavy lawndart, the plane survived witout any major damages. The frontend cracked in two places, but stuck together.
I wnet home and fixed it imidiatly, had to.

Two layers of FG on the inside should do the trick. The pylon will get an additional FG reinforcement. And I promiss never to leave that out in any DLG-build.

Sorry for late advice. When I made mine, I sanded pylon some milimeters. It maded it shorter and in throwing makes less bending power. Hope understood

Oh Ruben.... That's heart breaking. One of the guys in my club always wraps some CF thread on all of his glued on stab pylons.... Just for that reason. The planes I have right now have molded on pylons.

@Jwm: You didn´t jinxed me. It had allready happend when you wrote it. Sometimes a man has to be brought back to his common sence, and I gues thats what happend to me.

@Mr. Wiz The last planes I have build has been with molded on pylons or some special made types that only needed CA to stick. Back in the days when Predator 2 was the thing, I allways wraped a piece of FG around that area. I´ve learned the lesson, and will never leave that part out again!

@Kliunkis. I get it! I´ve sanded the pylon to match the boom, and had a really nice fit between the two parts. Sanded the boom to make a tacky surface, but that wasn´t enough.

Here is the pictures of the "scratches" and my repairs.

No plane flies well without "weathering", but I could have waited just a little longer.....

Planes is sitting in the shop waiting for epoxy to cure. Then the famous "wrap" goes on, and we´re back to testing.
I really look forward to get some more airtime on this baby. Those short flights where really promissing.

If you're using 2.4 GHz be aware that the carbon you stuck in the nose can contribute to brownout.

Looks like its gonna be fine, Rubin? I just felt a little bad for you hurting your brand new baby so soon. I'm sure, it will fly just like new.

glad to see it suffered little damage... pucker factor off the scale on that one!

so, can we see what you will do to better secure that pylon now... It looks like it will take significant material (uni wrapped around the boom) on the boom and pylon to properly secure. I'm certain you will find the solution Ruben.
