Someone added an LED to the top of the board, which allows the light to shine outwards like headlights.

I didn't read the thread in detail, only skimmed it for photos. I have no idea why he did it. Maybe as a challenge? Or as a learning exercise? But the photos sure look interesting to me.

EDIT: aaaaand it's got a brushless motor

V911 with Helios paddles and skids ,

Flies fine despite the overly chunky skids, balances nicely with the battery in the cage.

is there a concise thread for essential things to make your heli fly better and just longer?

i saw a post about servo savers, but now i can't find it

Example..I put a dab of superglue in the edges of my flyabar right out the of box. I've lots the weights out of flybars to many times.

also loosened the flybar screw just alittle..I noticed they come a little tight and for some people it causes the toiletbowl effect.

The new Yellow canopies have a detachable tail rudder...i also put a dab of glue on that...small clips and crashes would turn the rudder and make it unflyable.

Does anyone else think the landing skids on the yellow v911are kind of close together? or maybe it just cause it was cramped in the box so long?

This IS the concise thread for V911 helicopters..

Yellow V911's have a vertical tail fin that twists around the tail boom and jams the tail rotor. Superglue is a bit much. Nail polish is not as permanent.

You can take the tail fin off if it's geting in the way. It serves no observable function other than looks (which I guess is observable by definition, well, you know what I mean ).

I was going to do an airplane with a brushless motor and decided to put it on one of the helicopters to screw around.
GPS-C03 Brushless Gearbox
ELE Single Cell Lipo Brushless 5A ESC
XTREME Brushed to Brushless Signal Converter
Flies pretty good need to get use to the added ceiling pounding power lol

Brushless fixed pitch/45 degree flybar helicopters /goes of to deal with nightmares.

I found that the brushless motor does not spin as fast as the factory motor I mounded it in place of the factory motor first and put the 7 tooth gear on and it would not even pull off the ground. I ended up using the 12 tooth gear the motor came with and it works great. I was surprised the back motor can keep up with it.

I don't think I even get half the battery life with this setup but I can always go to a bigger battery with the added lift.

I want to do a um scratchbuild myself using the v911 brick but my soldering skills are not good enough to connect the motor and battery wires. Are there any small bricks that come with connectors or wires already soldered on? I think the yellow v911 brick has a connector for the battery but what about the main motor?

The brick on the DH9116 has connectors for all these things but what I don't like about it is that it's not really a micro with the servos off the brick.
