radios

has anyone converted the trigger on a car radio to be used for the sail servo? i'm thinking of opening up one of mine, remove the spring/s, and install a tensioner to hold the lever. i have like 8 radios just sitting doing nothing.

it can be done but you will find your finger gets tired. best thing is take one of your stick type radios and rx's and swap it over, put the pistol grip in a motor boat and the stick radio in the yacht, you will find it better.

oh i'm sure it would be better, but sailing my paradise i don't work the sails that much. i think i'll give it a try in my paradise. it uses a futaba radio. just a matter of switching out the rx. it's a quick job. i realy want a spectrum, but don't want to spend $220 ta do it. gotta price the receivers. i may have to stick to fm.

for a yacht, a 75mhz 2ch am or fm radio is more than adequate, nothing to cause interferrence that would warrant having a speki
