My aging business partner was a b 52 mechanic for 25 years in the USAF. He dont fly rc, but he is dead set on buying a scale model of one. Has any one seen a b 52 electric?

B52

I was a structural repairman (tin bender) on B52's. I've only seen scratch built RC planes.

Good luck. I've found nothing more than toys with props no less. An operating RC B-52 of any consequence will be in the thousand$$.

Not going to happen. the wings are too thin to hold battery packs, the scale would be way off and building a wing to hold all those ducted fans, no matter what size, would be almost impossible.

A fellow on the Giant Electric Planes thread, dag214, has a drawing of a B-52, his rough estimate is close to $15,000 at least and probably closer to $20,000 by the time it would be built and he sees many problems with the wings and such. Of course he is building a giant plane, but any scale would be difficult to do.

The B-52 entered service about 1948, I don't know the exact year for sure, but they are well over 60 years old.

The B-52 first flew in 1952; I would have sworn it was later than that.

By the way, if you haven't seen GATHERING OF EAGLES or BOMBERS B-52, you really should. Wonderful in-flight scenes

Bombers B-52 has some great scenes, but the only viable scale model of a B-52 you're going to get is a non-flying one.

The only RC B-52 I've ever seen, and it was a short flight.

B 52 Huge RC plane crash (1 min 47 sec)

There are alot more videos of im guessing that plane that crashed. It was a very beautiful plane....... I wonder how much time and money they had tied up in that one.
