New Japanese, Chinese airliners

Who'll be the first to model these beauties?

I really like Chinese C919 airliner, it's very sophisticated in looks and you can see how they took aerodynamic features from both Boeing and Airbus then incorporated in their new C919 airliner....I see B787, B737 and A320 in it out clearly...

SSJ-100 is itself a smaller mixture of B787 n bit of Airbus. If you look carefully at all these newer small airliners, they all copied B787 in them. A350 is a knock off ugly copy of B787....

Agree with you Concordefan2 concerning appearance of planes, but a lot of ingeneering decisions Boeing borrows from other companies and the statement that SSJ-100 the copy 787 not the absolutely correct

To say that the C919 is a clone of the SSJ100 isn't a true statement either. The C919 is much larger than the SSJ100. The SSJ is a regional class aircraft, while the C919 is in direct competition with the A320 series and 737. The SSJ's max seating capacity is 108, and the C919 is 174, while they weigh 109,000 lbs and 170,000 lbs respectively. I think that most modern airliners are designed with similar design philosophy and construction, that they end up looking very similar to each other. The MRJ is a bit different looking, and I really like the looks of it.

The MRJ looks amazing! It almost has that executive jet "sassy" look to it. And I like that.

Is it just me, or do the engines look unusually big on the C919?

It shouldn't have any trouble taking off from short runways...

I think it's a larger engine cowl that incorporates sound dampening technology.

This is China's A321 killer lol

This is pretty much the same CFM LEAP 1 engine used in the upcoming A320neo and 737MAX.

C919 is a head on competition with B737MAX n A320neo family...good luck to them this time around by getting into commercial airliner business....

Last time they copied a B707-300 and only one flew as a prototype n 2nd airframe died on production line back in 60s!

Certainly you must know that you're talking about extremely ancient history.

Maoist China of fifty years ago versus the runaway capitalism of China today? You've got to be kidding...

:-) Mitsu is a pretty design.
Chinese one looks like an odd copy of a 737 and has bits of pretty well anything that has flown.
Certainly the flattened bottom nacelles of the mid model 737 revision.
But then Who outside of mainland China would willingly fly in one?
Gonna be a Very tough sell to non chinese.. methinks.
