Hi ^^

Well, Im probably not the best person to help you out, since I have had little experience with the quad hobby so far.... So, take my recommendations has such!

Syma X5 Is really nice looking _
To bad Its frame makes it suffer in the weakest wind!! =/
And you cant adjust the low res camera direction... Its aways pointing to low!
Ask Ryan for more:
Syma - X5C Explorers - Review and Flight (Indoors and Outdoors) (17 min 4 sec)

JJRC H8C or "the Syma x5 Killer" has I heave heard!
Its really looks nasty, and that HD 2.0MP camera is there to prove the nick makes it justice!
But Its a very new model, so I was not able to see a lot of reviews yet! =/
But Its definitely superior than the Syme X5 AND the V959 which we will talk about now!!!!!
No video yet... =/

Has far has I know... V959 is a old version of the V222!
The V222 Is a quad that I have owned and I can vouch for, IT A FU**ING MONSTER!
Ok, not so much ... xD
But it is a POWERFULL guy!!
It also have a camera, although it is a low res one! =/
And Its slim frame allows it to fight wind really well!
Has I said, I dont know a lot about the H8C, but the V222 fights wind better than It because of the frame size! It also can take a bitten like a bitch!! LOL
Here a compassion between V222 and the X5C
Syma X5C vs WLToys V222 Quadcopter Drones Comparison Review (12 min 46 sec)

This one I can recommend!
You can find it here:

http://www.tmart.com/Wltoys-V222-2.4...k_p190744.html

Bought mine here
http://www.myrcmart.com/wl-toys-v222...ed-p-6705.html

Now, if you allow me to ask... Why do you want to start with a mid size quad? .o

PS: Special thanks to Flyin' Ryan RC and Quadcopter 101 for the videos!! ^-^

I personally own a V959, a Hubsan 107D FPV, and a Walkera QR W100S, and with you being new and wanting to get into this hobby I would go for the V959 or the V222. They are relatively cheap, durable and very fun to fly. Just my own opinion

Yeah I have been very happy flying the Syma X1. But the Syma X5 looks way heavy. I bet flight times suffer.

Because you will fly it far!
You will make a mistake!
It will fall!
And ho ever finds it, may have a good heart, which will lead him to track the owner to give him his quad back!
And if there is no name, nor a phone number, how the hell will he find you? =/

Hi , I am also from the UK ! My advice would be the V222 . Reason is wltoys have a lot of cheap quads of different sizes that all can use the same controller . So means if you like it and want a bigger one you can get a v262 bnf as you will already have a controller that works so saves you money . You can also get a smaller v252 that will work with its controller or the even smaller v272! V222 has about 4 different speed setting so great to learn and progress with in early stages . Spare parts are cheap and easy to get and it can handle a lot of crashing .
Also being in the UK it is always difficault to find a seller outside of China . My advice is use banggood. Unlike some of the eBay sellers banggood at the moment seems to be shipping to the UK in around 2 weeks . I have even had some orders turn up in just one week recently !
