Mount Spironet clover IN the airplane? (with just the clovers sticking out)

I would like to arrange so that I don't have a giant antenna poking out of the bottom of my airplane. I am using the spironet CP clover antennas, Right now I have the transmitter mounted internally and the whole antenna whip and clover sticking out the bottom of the aircraft, is it possible for me to have JUST the clover out the bottom with no negative effect on reception?

That works fine. No problem with that.
