93" Aj-aircraft lazer 230

Ok time to start its own thread

Mine showed up today, well at least the fuse did, wings are still MIA i'm hoping they get delivered on Monday.

looks good, at first I was like man this is a small plane (thinking its a 100cc) then I took it out and placed it next to a 88" ef extra, woa dawrfs it.

Should be a fun build.

I will be going the electric route with a NEU 1527 geared 6.7:1 on a 12s setup with cc hv 160 esc and 5000 mah batts.

I will be trying savox servos for the first time on this build and will be going with the 1270 TG line of servos.

Ordered mine yesterday. I'm doing electric as well, going to try the Motrofly DM-5335. I'm guessing we'll want to go push-pull for rudder?

I'm picking mine up across the border (I live in Canada) tomorrow.

I'm surprised so many of us are going electric, I thought I might be the only one. I'm using a Hacker Q80-8M with Jeti ESC. There are very few electrics in the 50cc or bigger size in my area.

I have a 3DHS Slick 89, also with the Q80-8M, with a Castle ICE2 160 HV. That one flies great, I have around 400 flights on it.

Yes, some great benefits to gas especially with nice twins like the DA-70 I guess but I'm all electric so I'll stay that way. Hacker would have been a consideration but we don't have a US distributor at the moment. I also looked a bit at the Eflight Power 360 as I've heard 2nd hand reports it's pretty good, but it does weigh quite a bit more than the Hacker or Motrofly.

esprit has just about everything in stock, but the Q series. That's one of the few reasons I was swayed towards the DA-70. First time for everything.

Lots of people stick to electrics, and its good to see that. The only beef for me would be a measly 5 minutes of stick time with the Q80 motor setup, even with a bit bigger battery set. Personally I would opt for a DA70 to power the airframe as it would offer equal amounts of power from takeoff to landing rather than power slipping downhill slightly throughout the flight. Also, longer flight times are easily attainable.

All a matter of preference, really

Lee Estingoy is the new Hacker USA distributor, you can contact him directly at:

I thought about going electric on my 93" but put the EME 70cc twin on it. I'm currently running the Eflite Power 360 on 12s swinging a Xoar 24X10 prop on my Redwing RC 50cc Slick 540. 5700 watts at full throttle. Lots of fun. Just put this pilot in my 93".

The 360 seems a bit heavy and maybe as heavy as the Q80-6L, which can swing a 26x10TH to at least another 1000 Watts at about 43.5 volts. It's also twice the price, so the 360 would be an inexpensive alternative if it can hold up better with a 24x10 than the 160 does with a 20x10.

Since I'm not really that concerned about a Watts reading -- since it really doesn't mean anything to me unless I know the specific voltage it's coupled with -- I was wondering if you had an actual RPM reading with the 24x10 Xoar PJN? That will tell me a lot more. We were getting about 6950 with that prop on the Q80-8M on 12S, and since they are both listed at 180Kv, I'd be interested to see if the added weight translates to more efficiency like it does when moving from an A60 to the Q80.
