Understand, thanks.

Subject change:
In one of your recent posts you spoke of the PW-RC struts for the E-flite retracts. Just curios if you or anyone has tried them yet?

Struts for E-flite retracts Plan B.
Just thinking out loud here. I'm also considering printing (3D) struts that would install/go over the stock E-flite retract wire. I know that this does NOT give any practical performance (aka compression), but from a "scale look" point of view I think it would hit the mark better then anything out there in the market right now.

One more confirmation/clarification question if i may.

Page 10 Post #141
Balancing the taileron.
Have most of the current owners done this modification? Based on the posts, it seems that it is highly recommended by A.S. but I think that was done of the prototype. I didn't see any followup on this issue/mod on the current "owner" builds.

Is it still recommended on the production builds?

thanks

Hi Rob,
Finally got a chance to get on.
Speaking of strut covers, you might look at what robart has too.

I don't think I static balanced my elevators.

If I get a chance I'll post a pic of your fan soon. Give you something to drool over.

Great!! thank you!
I can't wait to get the kit, feel like a child waiting for Christmas. Oh yes there will be drooling.
But once again, life/faith is stepping in and forcing me to be patient (story of my life). Knowing that I will not be able to build this kit till January 2016 (at the earliest) is already making aggravated.

But once I get the kit, I will take many pictures of it to keep me company for the months to come.

Just a quick follow up. As stated, I understand your reply.
But let me ask it this way:
You have flown your F20 with the 2~3 deg mod and you have flown/seen the ones without the mod.
In your personal opinion, did you see/feel enough "positive" difference between the two to recommend others to do the mod?

Thanks

Hello and welcome to the f-20 club!.the mod c/n did helps the plane rotate easier on take off as it adds a bit of aoa to how it sits on the ground.I don't think struts will work with the eflite retracts with out a "z" bend in the wire.as seen in a pic I posted.

Thank you sir.

The Z is a great idea.
Gary gave me a link to some HK struts that seem to have "close enough" specs but they do need to be modified a bit. For $16, I think I will give it a go, what could possibly go wrong.

If all fails, I think I'll go with Plan B and print out some struts just for the scale look.

not a whole lot of difference in the way it flies, it does give the wing a little more aoa, but the normal models rotate just fine with partial flap. (I use partial flap too)

I didn't balance my stabs, and im doing 150-155.....so I don't think its a issue....just make sure your servos and linkages are as slop free as possible, and make sure theres no binding
