Question
4 meters (157 inches) Electric sailplane

Looking for such electric glider. Preferably with glass fuselage, and wood wings/elevator. I like the ASW28 or DLG 800.. but they mostly come in 2.54m (100 inches).
I'm not in competition of any kind. So if it stable, and have separate flaps, ailerons and air breaks great! (Butterfly or crow works but air brakes are better I think)

So if you know a good one, please let me know.
Thank you in advance for your links.
Henri

Thank you for answering.
Hopefully something better than what I found (see photo).. This alpina 4001 might be usefull but not very good in the gliding area..

Hi, Henri.

Just FYI; scale sailplanes can be quite the handful compared to a sport or contest duration bird. Soaring USA has a few in the size range you are looking for.

Cheers!

Being in oz land, freight cost could be an expensive item from the USA .

Currently having fun with a small 2.54 meters (100 inches) ASW28.

So I thought with a Pixhawk flight controller it should handle a larger bird as well.. (just my 2 cents idea).

Anyway thank you for the provided link.

I didn't notice you hailed from down under. And, as long as you know what you are getting into with scale handling, perhaps one of the offerings from Fly Fly Hobby would be a good choice? I have their 2.6meter DG 1000 and it flies pretty well now that I have tweaked it some. It needs strong lift to soar but it looks great doing it. They won't match the quality of a high end European ship but, based on my very small sample of one, the cost savings is worth the extra effort.

Cheers again!

Yes it does look pretty. Hard to tell how it would perform, but I'm not in competition so I'll be happy if it has no major defect! Just being able to carry happily a NEX5R and handle some wind

But: if You read what other experience have found: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2198527

So thanks a lot for indicating a possible glider.
