EDF powered flying wing.

Anyone know of a flying wing design powered by EDF?

There are (2)....one is the Neptune that I have, & the other is the same under a different name, the HK Sonic 64. They fly absolutely superbly & have a great glide ratio & love a breezy day. You need a Tx that has "ELEVON" wing type for proper control. There is a thread(attached below) with many ideas/mods/flights that will certainly enlighten you regarding this great wing. Also, there are some great vids on YouTube if you type in "Neptune RC" in the Search window. Here's a pic & a couple links.

I have a Sonic 64 and I love it. I added servo arm guards to the underside bit otherwise just plugged in my components and it's been all smiles since. Fun, Fun, Fun.

Yes, I did the same & never had any issues with the servo rods getting damaged in any way with grass landings. Easy to make. I also highly recommend to move the ESC just in front of the EDF by simply cutting a bit of foam to seat it & remove the heatsink covering for much better cooling. My ESC never gets hot. Pics attached...

I didn't put my ESC outside but I did make a slight cut-out in the cockpit and opened up the canopy air vents a bit for better flow. (Exit hole should be larger than intake scoop). It gets warm but not alarmingly so.

You won't be sorry if it is anything like the Sonic. A real pleasure to fly.

Point it into the wind, kill the throttle and then feed in up elevator until it is full up. It settles down level and slow at about a 60 angle . . . at least where I have the C.G. on mine.

That means I can fly about anywhere.

F-27 Stryker in T-38 Thunderbirds scheme

You can also convert an existing flying wing design too.
But, if you don't want to do that, there is another ready made version in addition to the one listed above:

I modded an F-27 Stryker some years ago, and it's the most enjoyable plane (edf or otherwise) I've ever had.
Fully aerobatic at 1/2 throttle and pretty stress-free flying.

I've just finished the build and got the bind done, but gotta make some mods to it so I can fit the ESC , battery and receiver in the little compartment. I'm looking forward to the maiden. Thanks for sharing your pics looks awesome.

Hey Paul,
You can really open the cockpit area for larger batts(I use 2200's) by recessing the Rx into the side of the cockpit wall & moving the ESC outside in front of the EDF for better cooling. Here's a pic of mine...
