Question
Aquila Grande fuse mold

I recently bought a built Aquila Grand. The fuse is un-damaged and I was thinking of making a mold from it as every once in a while someone mention's it.

To me the question would be "why not" . It's high time that we collectively stop losing the classics .

How would you go about making a mold for it. I always wondered, my mind just can't get wrapped around it. If you do, tell me how. I have a Aquila Grande that is 3/4 built. Just need to finish the right wing. But my fuse has a dent into it. I was think of scatch building a fuse out of wood for it instead.

I spent a few hour's removing the paint from the fuse today. I think it was enamel. I hope to have one side done by the end of the week. The guy who sold it to me say's he'll look for the plan's.

What a nice color scheme. Be super careful as you make the mold. LJ

I will Larry. Apparently enamel was used to paint the fuse and in trying to just smooth some area's I just decided to remove the paint completely. Can you possibly tell me what happened to the original mold's?

Dave,
Prather was the supplier for the fuselages. I am not sure that we even owned the molds. I would imagine that when Prather closed all the molds were discarded or sold off with the rest of the stuff.
if it is enamel it is best to wash it off. How are you going to cover the under canopy area? Hope to see you soon. Larry
