6s * 40A = 4.2V * 40A * 6 = 1008W. Taking 85% efficiency into consideration, that is 1185W required from power supply.

That's why I'm thinking of 2 x 700W power supply to be on safe side.

24v at 50A is what Revolectrix recommends for a power supply to charge 6s lipos at 40A. That's 1200 watts. You can get that from the Power24+...I fully tested them at 50+ amps for a few hours straight back when I first built my dummy load, it passed with flying colors. In fact, truth be told, it can be pushed to 55A before the over current protection kicks in. Keep in mind, it's not like you are going to be running it at full power the whole time you are charging, just the first part and then it tapers off.
