3dhs 92 edge or EF 91 extra

i figured this should be a interesting thread i'm looking into one of these two planes i'm a mixed flyer been thinking of flying some entry level imac stuff but i also like low and slow 3d. my understanding is the edge for 3d and the extra for precision, however is one so much better then the other in any aspect that it would seperate it. i also understand not many people well have flown both planes since the edge is so new. but any feed back would be helpful

If your looking for a plane that 3D's amazingly well and draws some really nice Imac
lines, The Edge is very capable of both..

I've been watching your videos Mr smith and I've yet to see one that wouldnt make me want the plane used in the video. And I really like the edge, but you prefer the electric setup?

The first video I posted is with a DA60 (gas).
Joe is helping develop the future of Electrics with his sponsors so lots of what Joe Flys has electric setups. But I can tell you he really likes the Edge on a DA60 too.

If the hacker q80 wasn't the same price as a da60 id be more likely to go that way. Any idea kind of flight times he's getting out of the electric I'm guessing he's running two 6s 5000s

I would say average 6 minutes. He flys Jeti Ds16 with Telemetry which monitors capacity used instead of just pure minutes. So depending on the flight, some are shorter and some longer.

Not sure how the new E-flite motor will compare to the Q80 but, it is $300 cheaper.

Hey Jim how many watts are you pulling with the hacker, and I wonder if Joe would comment on how the power feels compared to a da60

I think the answer to your question really depends on your flying style. Both are good airplanes, but the EF Extra will out perform the Edge in precision flying. Both are insane in 3D aerobatics with a light surface loading and huge control surfaces. Because of the different wings, each of these airplanes will have specific maneuvers that it will do better than the other. Overall though, I think they're pretty equal in 3D.
The last thing that I will say is that the 91" Extra will wad up faster in a tumble!

5000watts
And a q80 will win a vertical drag race with a da60 with everything else the same.
