F3B Plane

Warren,
Sometimes the manufaturer puts a sticker inside the sub nose cone to show who made the plane.
Have you checked there?
Also you could check the invoice from SoaringUSA to see what you bought.
Hope this helps.

Name this plane

Warren,
Go to www.rcgroups.com and the F3x section of Sailplanes and start a thread with a picture asking people to help you identify this plane.
I've only seen the experts fail to properly identify a plane once recently.

The Megatron

It’s a 1972 model known as "The Megatron". It was suppose to be a really fast model. The only down side was that it was made of "Carbon Fiber"! At the time the best pilots only wanted "Birch Wood". Plus it was WAY to light! Everyone was freaked out thinking it would break on launch. So the model never really got traction.

Just recently a current model manufacture found the old blue prints and started making them again. They are selling like hotcakes....and they are still fast!

I don't know why they re-named it....that was stupid!

It looks like yours' sucks because …. Well, just because I thought it would be funny to say that!

Well, if you would peel off that big-ass sticker that the previous owner placed over the skin to hide the factory markings, we could help you to identify what appears to be a straighter version of the Northrop flying wing, dating wayyyyy back. I would be careful with handling that item as it may be radio-active, telling by that lead-lined cover it was transported in. Better take a geiger counter reading just be safe. If you feel uncomfortable with moving forward on this, I'm sure there are experts among us who can safely and without cost to you, take that away for you. Any of you experts might wish to chime in.

Awesome! I am thinking of making a "V" and putting it on KP's Freestyler, and see where that takes us!
