ok when i went on the JR indoor electric festaval site it said no aircraft with a motor larger than a speed 300 will have to be approved. is a ''speed 300'' the same size as a GWS 350C gearbox . and whats the largest wingspan permitted

I wouldn't worry about that. Most of the stuff there is speed 400 size. I don't think they would turn you away unless you bring something really big.

I saw several people fly built up planes that would take a Park 450 size motor from e-flite when I went two years ago . . . as long as its not huge Id say youd be okay . . .

It says that anything over Speed 300 has to BE APPROVED by the Contest Director.

I don't think anyone is trying get out of approval, just whether or not to bring it and try to get it approved.

There is a net all over the dome. So you won't hit the fabric. Your plane may get stuck in the net, Terry and his brother Rich have a solution for that, if that doesn't work the golfers will get your plane down on Monday. They hit it with golf balls. The parts may or may not work when it falls to the floor.

Yes the door is tricky. So watch it. I almost got stuck in it once.

So stay away from the net, when it happens, it is not pretty.

thanks for the heads up . my hobby shop throws LARGE fly-ins every 2 weeks in the winter we fly in a hocky rink there is a net there, once some guy crashed his 450 sized T-Rex heli into it the guy had a hard time gettin it down
