Punkie, Norm, ET, get in here!

Since the purse swinging got out of hand in the original thread, I would like to hear what the local .govs are putting out about the increased threat levels in your area.

I hope they put out a strong wonder letter, at least

Last time I was in London they had cops patrolling with mp5s... And they were loaded, unlike French vigipirate soldiers with unloaded famas..

Not noticed a thing.

It's not like they are any thing to really worry about, I grew up playing in bomb craters and listening to every older male relative talking about WW1 or WW2.

When deaths were counted in millions.

Or my mum talking about the blitz on Manchester, when her dad worked in a factory by day and at night when she slept under the stairs (strongest part of the house) he went out as a volunteer fireman.

Then the next day walking to school and passing gaps where friends houses had stood the day before.

Then as I grew up, the American funded IRA blowing people up all the time.

A bunch of rag heads bother us, not much.

Added this to the 'purse swinging' thread - but I repeat here...

Only thing mentioned on the news was that it was a recommendation from the Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre (JTAC) (without any intelligence indicating that there will be an attack) that there MAY be an attack sometime.

I fully understand and realize you (as a country) have been under much worse conditions, but goat blowing up metropolitans and buses might still be a slight inconvenience.

Yeah, sorry, I forgot some of you fought T-Rex and velociraptors in their early years

(With all due respect, just a joke )

So innocent people being blown up in buses, trains and metros by the hundreds is a slight inconvenience, but a stupid instructor being killed in a negligent accident by his young student is a terrible drama.....?

Just to help with your sense of time scale - the IRA bombings happened around the 80's and 90's - when I was in my 30/40's..

But the IRA was just a slight inconvenience according to Punkie's scale, on paar with the ragheads.

The last 'tough' things you went through was WW2, just before those dinos went extinct
