Announcement: Pilatus PC-6 Turbo Porter

Multiplex recently announced the arrival of their new Pilatus PC-6 Turbo Porter. It's built from Elapor foam and comes with the electronics and power system pre-installed. Just add your radio and a 3S 2100-2700mAH Lipo. It brings some nice features with it like internal control linkages, simulated rivets and panel lines, and a nice sprung landing gear set. The wing and tail are detachable making this nearly 50" wingspan model easy to get to the field. There is an optional float set that will make for some great float flying. We hope to see this new Porter in action at SEFF next month. [Hitec/Multiplex]

Features:

  • Durable Elapor Foam
  • Fast assembly
  • Pre-installed electronics
  • Controls: Aileron, Elevator, Flaps, Rudder, and Throttle

Looks like there's a rudder in the picture. Probably just forgot to list it.

Thanks, I was wondering when I saw the deflected rudder in the picture. I'm one of those crazies who loves to do stall turns, slips, & snaps.

I tried it on their free simulator which you can download from their German site. I used the 'transmitter' which came with my Real Flight Basic.

It's not what I would call a thrill. Rather boring in fact. It DOES say Rudder on the picture the OP posted.

Not a Fun Cub at all.

It comes with motor, ESC, and six good servos, so you only have to buy the battery and a receiver.

Multiplex foamies are very high quality and made of a much stronger foam than most. Though personally I think it is a bit pricy even for them, but all the electrical bits are top quality that you would be happy to use in any plane.

That is a good deal. The 229 Euro price was as on Multiplex's main site in Germany, taxes paid and is the same through the EU as all taxes are identical and of course there are no import duties.

GLUE

I see Tower Hobbies say thick CA, which they say is recommended by Multiplex, and an activator.
Multiplex have a glue of their own which they call Elapor which they recommend for all their foamies. I don't know what it is and don't know if it is available is the US..
