Electrolyte 40mm Composite EDF Micro Jet

100MPH Micro Jet!

Splash

One of the Fastest Micro Jets Around

HobbyKing has released an ARF version of the famous micro jet developed by DR. Bret Becker whose prototype was the first micro jet to fly faster than 100MPH. That airplane is currently on display at the AMA Museum so you know it is something special. Now you can own one. Dr. Becker worked closely with the design team on both the airframe as well as the power plant to make sure this is one adrenaline filled aircraft.

The Electrolyte has a fiberglass pre-painted fuse and balsa construction for the wings and tail section. There are actually two different vertical fins included so you can choose the look or style you like best. It also comes with an 8 blade impeller and aluminum fan housing along with a Dr. MadThrust 40mm 8000kv EDF motor to give you those mind boggling speeds. They do recommend a bungee launch to get the plane into the air and even included a mini bungee kit in the box, awesome! This is an ARF kit so a lot of the assembly work is already done, but you will need some modeling skills, radio gear, supplies, ESC, battery and tools to finish it off.

The Electrolyte ARF is available right now at HobbyKing's East Warehouse for around $100.

Specifications:

  • Wingspan: 508mm
  • Length: 533mm
  • Weight: 210g (w/o electronics)
  • EDF Unit: Dr. MadThrust 40mm EDF w/8000kv Motor

A 20" wingspan plane that goes 100mph? Better figure out a way to FPV this thing because it's going to be out of sight in less than a second.

I have flown a 12 inch span plane at 96mph, its not too difficult but sometimes you have to have faith that you know what attitude its in when far out.

don't think that anyone who was following the development of these and the micro pylon racers will pass one up... was a fun set of threads to follow.

that looks like it would be very very very easy to lose orientation on. Small plane, similar colors and shapes on top and bottom and all (at 100mph)
