you can buy the motors and speed controlls from Aquacraft dealers, find them online on Tower Hobbies, Ebay or Offshore Electrics.com. You can also find used and sometimes new gear on Offshoreelectrics.com and go to their forums where there is a WTB and a ForSale forum where they show up also

What's the deal on the Zip Kits would the be to big for electric, not a bad price.

Zip kits isn't a scale hydro. you could do them electric just a lot more money as they usually run 8 to 10 cell lipos vs a 4 cell lipo in the 1/10th size boats

I ordered the plans for the 67 Bardhal from Newton today, still havent made up my mine on the motor and esc, I have a nice 60amp but its for a brussed 12 volt motor. and all this inrunner and outrunner is Greek to me. I dont want to race just speed around for fun. The 550 I have in my Thunder Bolt pusses it along pritty good I may try that depends on how heavy this Boat will be.
