Pilot: Andrew von Berky
Plane: Curvy Scratcho
Location: Mt Castle/ Laidley Ck Falls Ridge
Speed: 127mph
Witness: Brent Hardcastle
Radar: Stalker Pro 2
Gyro/Dcs?: No

Crazy hike expedition to get there, 6 hours hike time return, carrying planes through rainforest and up and down slippery steep slopes. Vertigo-inducing flying, standing on a narrow rocky ridge. Video report is here:

DS Expedition to Hole in the Wall 14Feb2015 (24 min 30 sec)

Grats with the PB and record! That site looks rocky, does it have a safe landing spot?

Yes but on backside only!
Kermès oak allow fast landing.
Frontside is a forest with pines and firs
At the summit you've got rocky ridge with up to 20 meters cliffs.
The "TV "road is also a fire road so there is almost no vehicles there.
You'll have to hike and climb almost 300m high from the parking in the backside.
20 min only not 6 hour like Andrew

On the same ridge after 5 more minutes walk this is the reverse DS spot working with South East wind. Quite long video with various point of views.
One DS day (15 min 3 sec)

The South wind F3F/acro DS site just beetween the two site
Strong Mini F3F & acro DS (5 min 11 sec)

Also have a dedicated full North wind DS slope but only up to "moderate" 30 knots. Too dangerous over (urban DS).
Prodij HM : Slippery Slope (4 min 8 sec)

Quite windy today but was working...
Missed the 55 knots DS session...

Andrew, si tu passes en France, tu es le bienvenu à Marseille comme d'ailleurs tous les pilotes de DS du monde entier...
