I have a Motor from Art-tech and it the only thing it says on it is "7.4 volts".
I have the battery that came with it but not the charger. The battery that came with it is 7.4 volts 1400mah. The battery I would like to use is 800mah and 11.1v. Will this work? The esc is a 20a brushless motor esc.

Also a quick reply would be very much appreciated. i would like to fly today.

sure, for some time it will boost the motor to turbo mode, then the overload might fry the motor, the fried motor might maje the esc let out some fancy color smoke, after this, the battery pack says goodbye in flames

Or i might underestimate the durability of the 7.4V motor you are using, and you may get less than 40% flight time at some insane speed compared to the original 2s setup.

Thanks for the reply. I have scrapped that plane and I am using the motor and electronics for a jet, but I have one more question. If I were to use a 2 cell 800mah would the motor fry the battery?

That would depend on battery C-rating and how much current the motor actually draws. The biggest factors determining amp draw are propeller size and motor kI-value. So we don't have enough data to answer your question. When making any changes to the power train you should measure amps and volts to confirm that you are still within every component's specification.

Well I just found out that it is a 970kv motor.

How many amps does the motor draw on 2s? (Get a wattmeter asap if you don't already have one)
What is the C-rating of your 2S 800mAh battery?
