G-Force/Battle of the Planets/Gatchaman phoenix plane build w/ Google SketchUp
I have been mulling over building a RC plane to closely match the hero's plane found in the 70s cartoon G-force.
I havent found any instance of this plane created for RC.
I did find a 3D model here:
I don't yet know anything about Google Sketchup. Would importing the 3D model into sketchup save me much time? Or would the work needed to change the model to allow for an RC design be comparable to building from the ground up?
The wings will have to be abit bigger than the cartoony small size. I'd like to keep it as 'scale' as possible though.
Any comments or reservations?

A lot of surface area on bottom of fuselage. Might be enough? I watched this show too. I feel old now too. Suprised no one has done it so far. Good luck. Would love to see this bird fly. Would also be cool as a fuselage for a quad.
