Speed 400 Spit
I have built a spit, the Heino Dittmar design ,direct drive, 6v speed 400, cam prop but have a lot of trouble hand launching it .
Has any one got a fool proof method of launching. The wing makes holding it on the COG difficult for a smooth launch.

What's it weigh? I know some of the fellows who built the Heino Spitfire had them come out a little heavy. Which CAM prop are you using? How many cells and what kind?
Some low-wing planes are more awkward to hold than others. I personally don't find it difficult to hold and launch my own warbirds, but I have to admit that with the big wing fillets, few planes are harder to throw well than a small Spitfire.

Wello WB, the Dittmar Spit was my first elec model and came out way too heavy, as a result of sloshing epoxy everywhere, as per my glow days. I put it to one side and now with a fair bit more E experience I have resurrected it, bored lightening holes all over the place and lost 2 ounces!! I have also fitted a 400 cobalt motor. Also to aid launching I have incorporated finger and thumb holes in the bottom surface of the wing, below the CG. It has yet to have its "maiden flight " but it cant be any worse than it was, I hope !!!
