Radian R/E vs Poly Pulsar 2m
Hi to all
Those 2 sailplane has really good reputation.
Any field report about difference in flight between these two models.
Spetial think about:
Thermaling difference , sink rate in no thermal condition, wind penetration etc ...
Also does different kind of material feels in flight.
Radian has more weight

Hi Boris,, I have both the R/E radian and the REF 2m poly pulsar. They both thermal equally well I'd say. The pulsar has a MUCH wider speed range than the radian,, and is FAR more responsive,it goes up in lift very quick, quicker than the radian, the flaps on the REF version make spot landings a breeze, and the pulsar penetrates wind MUCH better than the radian,,,,,, HOWEVER,,, the pulsar is less forgiving than the radian,, its harder to fly effeciantly , and it doesn't have quite the same float as a RADIAN. The pulsar has a more sports car like feel compared to the radian,,, the pulsar cause of its very thin profile is a little harder to see at a distance than the radian. The radian IMHO is easier to fly at a distance when you can't see the plane real well. I like BOTH for different reasons.
Dead air times are about even in my experience.

Ps edit : if you don't mind spending a little more money, you might look at the new 2.5m poly pulsar, its a higher aspect ratio wing ( so better glide ratio) bigger wing a little easier to see, Wingloading about same,,, but you'd still have the nimble feel of 2m pulsar,, if I were buying one now,, that's the one I'd get
