Help!
Elevon Trim?

I figured this would be the best place for advice. I have a "wild hog" combat wing using elevons for control, and the trim on it is confusing me. Using the trim tabs, moving the aileron moves one surface while the elevator moves the other surface! this makes it impossible to get completely in trim, its always rolling or pitching.

I'm using a DX8. Does anybody know how to fix it so both trims control the axis they are meant for, not the individual servos?

Push all switches away from you before you turn on the radio and start setup.

In system setup

model type........airplane
model name......?????
wing type............Elevon /tail.........normal

Main screen , function list

Servo setup..........leave alone for now
D/R and Expo...... Aileron:
D/R: 70 70
Expo: 26 26
Sw: Aile D/R
Elevator:
D/R: 84 84
Expo: 25 25

Looking at the plane from the rear Right servo goes to ELEV on receiver and Left servo goes to AIL on reciever

That will get you started.

I have all of that down. The plane flys fine, my control throws are good. Its just the trim thing is bothering me.

ok I guess I'm not understanding what you want. While moving the trim switches next to your sticks on the tx. The ELE should move both servos up and down same direction and AIL should move both servos in opposite directions. Is that right

I'd imagine that it SHOULD, but it does NOT. The elevator trim moves the servo in the elevator channel, and same as the aileron trim. Thats where my problem is.

I would suggest starting from scratch, unplug everything and reset the Tx or simply trim her out manually…
When I said that the plane flys fine, I was referring to H8Mondays post giving throw and wing type guidelines. It had the trim issue, but it otherwise flew just fine.

Problem is resolved now, changing the switch select to "INH" on all did it for some reason.
