Best to check with 3DR
on their latest offerings, but, I use the rfd900u in the air and the rfd900 (aka rfd900A) in the ground station. I do buy all my rfd radios from Seppo
though.. I haven't purchased the RFD900+ yet as there is no need for me personally. If I ever burn out my rfd900 on the ground, then I'll get the plus. They're both 1w units.
With the RFD900 on the ground and one of the antennas being the 8db patch
, I was able to fly my other airframe 10miles out @ 10,000ft and with the 3DR radio in the air still able to maintain telemetry - although with the beginnings of some packet loss. With my Air Titan flying the rfd900u and the ground station still with RFD900 but with the rubber ducky antenna and not patch, I was able to do 8 miles at 6000ft and still had a solid link.
