Quick Question on SkyFun Jet
Hello,
I have a SkyFun jet from Hobby King with the stock setup (25A ESC and 1800 kv motor), and I'm going to be using an 800 mAH 3S 30C-40C Turnigy Li-Po battery pack on it. What kind of flight times could I theoretically expect from this? I don't have a Li-Po low voltage buzzer, so I really just need an approximate answer of what time I should set my DX6i timer countdown to. Thank you!  Dan |

Not very long !! You'll probably get about 2min ... 3mins if lucky.
Do yourself a favour and get a decent sized pack ... a Skyfun can carry at least 1500 - 1800 pack .... even my parkjet at a lot smaller carries a 1300 pack. And make sure it's 25c or higher .............. Think about it ... stock is 25A ESC ........ so expected to run maybe 20A .......... 800mA = 0.8A 0.8 / 20 = 0.04 .... so 0.04 x 60 = 2.4 mins at full rate and using all charged capacity from full charge. You have to stop draining a battery BEFORE it goes flat or it will be damaged ...... so lets say 70% = 2.4 x 0.7 = 1.68 mins. |
