Wiimote-controlled Blade CX2

Inspired by some of the reverse engineering effort that has already gone into the LP5DSM (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=721024), I've been working on a project that makes controlling helicopters from a computer easier.

I finally got a functional release (including source code and howto guides):
http://coptercontrol.sourceforge.net

As a demo, I thought I'd try something fun and write some glue code that lets you control the Blade CX2 via a wiimote (using the computer as the intermediary). Here it is doing its thing:

I still have an unmodified LP5DSM sitting here.

Go for the mod - it's really easy if you don't mind it looking ugly, and it's only a bit more work to make it look good. Plus, with a simple jumper or switch connecting the RX and TX lines back together, you can keep using the controller as normal.

One of the other thoughts I had was that it would really easy to turn the LP5DSM from a regular TX into a computerized TX by implementing scaling/exponential/mixing in software. Unfortunately, the latency added by reading the serial data, parsing it, modifying the packet, and transmitting it made the overall experience a bit laggy.

Does somebody know how to adapt this to a different RC? (In my case Turningy 9x)

I guess i have to reverse engineer the min and max values of each channel for the Turningy? Or is that documented anywhere?

Any help appreciated!
