Can antone help with SZD30 PIRAT Data?

Hi,
I'm interested in scratch buildingan SZD Pirat. There is not much on the net although I did find a very low res image of what I suspect is a detailed factory drawing. Can anyone help me with a good 3 view or electronic set of plans? The attached 3 view is available but really I would like something a bit higher res and with some fuselage cross sections. The kind of thing you find in Martin Simon's books would be great. I really should buy these.

Thanks in anticipation

Allan

Be warned all Pirats had a mandatory rudder change. Most 3 views show the original rudder where as most images show the later rudder!
The retrofitted rudder was narrower in chord at the top and wider chord at the bottom to reduce torque on the fuselage.
Still have my original rudder.

Some times I wonder why I look for my self. Much better just to ask you guys. No Limits, the 3 view is exactly what I need for now. That image off Google images is tantelizing too. There is a heap of info on it but it can't be read at this resolution.

Good Luck with you project.
Yesterday I saw a 1:1 Pirat on the winch at Hilversum in the Netherlands together with no less than 2 Alsema Sagittas.
The Pirat is a beautiful glider.

Thanks Maarten,
I'm not sure about beautiful but it is an unusual model. I like the wide chord. Plenty of area at a modest span and a great tip stall resistant wing plan form. It is this or a Pillatus B4 as my next scale build. The B4 is a much more common model build so I thought the Pirat would be a more interesting build. It will be a composite build like my SHK although I'm tempted to do a veneer and glass skin the cut out the open areas to better replicate the real one. I've loaded up the design in Plane Geometry and it has good proportions to fly well. I'm looking at 170 inch span and 1800 sq inches to get a scale that will let the fuselage fit my car.
Well that's the plan for now. Who knows what I'll b keen on when i next make a start.
I'll probably take a couple of evenings and built a little 900 mm span model to get a feel for the shape. This is a great way to see the machine in 3D and it can hang in the workshop for inspiration.

Cheers

Allan
