Holy crap! I turn off my computer to grill out and watch a little TV, little knowing that there was a 1/4 scale T-38 flying in NV!!!
Get on the groups tonight and I'm already 3 pages of congrats behind!!!!!
Andy, that is just absolutely fabulous! It really sounds like a jet, those Stumax fans sound awesome!!!! And it looks like it flies just great.
You have done such a great job on this bird and I can't wait to see it in person in Vegas.
I am really proud of you partner!
We need to fly Bryan out to film you.

OK Nut, now where in the hell is that damned canopy? We can't have a great looking bird like this flying around with a piece of foam taped to it!

Fantastic! Congrats!

What will be the next step to get more power?! More Lipos?! or do you have to change the fans too?

All the best for your T38,
regards Martin

falcon5 has set the bar. And it's HIGH. It will take some doing to even get close.

Congrats! Funny thing. I had a Sacramento to Vegas leg today. As I passed Tonopah I thought about this project an wondered which lake you fly off of. I guess I should have looked a little harder! Amazing job!

I have the Bob Fiorenze T-38 model with a turbine. Been watching from start.
Bigger is definitely better, and that sound... It's like being ten years old again
Congratulations on an incredible project!
So inspirational!

Andy has a very big jet but there have been others. As far as T-38 goes or tactical trainers or twin engine or single engine well that's a different story... I don't know the particulars of how it could be broken down.

Hans Buhr (I may have that right) made an Antonov 6 motor EDF that is something in the neighborhood of 160" but the fuselage... It's pretty huge. And with BRUSHED motors for the first version as he started making these in the 90's. Later versions with brushless motors.

Chris Gold of the UK? He's had several very large EDF's. UK and German modeling in general has a history of electric flying giants, many EDF.

LotusTurbo here on RCGroups made a 140" Tu-162 with a wing of about 110" powered by 4, 80mm Shubeller fans.

Many of you guys have probably followed the DC-9 thread in the basic EDF forum... That one is pretty huge too and the scale level is quite intense!

None of those take anything away from this T-38 of course. Andy's jet is in it's own rarefied territory yet also in good company
