Let's see your BIG OCTOCOPTER
So I started my Octo build this week. The ultimate goal is to build something that will be very stable, lots of lift and carry a camera in the near future. No interest in acrobatic for this one.
I began with 1 inch aluminum tubing and aluminum plate for the framing landing gear. Weight frame and gear 2.5 lbs.
Eventually the entire machine will be all black on black with the exception of motor color electronics and rotor.
Still trying to decide on motors between a turnigy multistar and Sunnysky.
Regardless of manufacturer Kv will be around 600 to 700 props will be 12 to 13 inche APC
ESCS will be 30A simon K.
Here are some images so far

This is the "medium" big octo or H16 (depending on how it's configured). Images are for H16 with MT4008 and 15x5 carbon props. Would work just as well with 8 motors in the same config and might even have a longer flight time. As shown, max weight is over 20kg.
I have a bigger one that can do 20kg in octo or 35kg in H16 config using U8 motors and 26in props (!).

Slowly growing on my living room floor.
Due to the rather extreme cost of building this thing it will take months to complete.
For the same reason I'll start it as a Quad and then expand it to Octo as funds
makes parts aviable.
