i did the conversions and the wing is 60" and it is supossed to weight 3.3 lbs or 52 ounces rtf.Sweet and beautiful bird,I'd like to get my hands on one very cool. The 2212's seem a little underpowered but my Kavan Partenavia flew fine on two GWS 2212's at a 60" ws so it'd be tough to tell. Awesome find

Contact Info

I went to the BMI website and am interested in several of their models. These models are not sold in the U.S.

Their website site does not have any contact information. Can any of you help me in this matter? An e-mail address or a phone number would be very helpful.

Thanks, John

I will write a small report as soon as I have the plane.

My Twin Otter arrived last week. I had no time to start buildings since I have to wait for the ESC and the servos.

Of course I did a thorough inspection. The fuselage is built quite OK. Then I looked at the wing, which came as one part. It seemed a little weak. I had the impression that it bends which could not be. The answer: The wing was already broken where the two halfes come together. So I have to fix that.

What also botheres me a little is that the used balsa wood is not of the best quality.

Well, I start building probly end of the week. Keep you informed.

IMA Twin Otter Foamie!

Hey Ben E,

I read your post asking for info about the IMA Twin Otter Foam model.
That was three years ago.
What happened?
Did you buy the kit?

Broken Twin Otter!

AlexanderB,

Sorry to see the damage! I hope you complain to both the hobby store owner and the manufacturer. The manufacturer should replace the kit as a courtsey!
Just my opinion.
Keep us posted!

Daniel,

thanks for your feedback. Of course I should or could do that. But... Then I have to send the package back (expensive), have to wait until the store repleces it or - even worse - refuses to replace the kit.

So I take the positive side. When I re-glue the wing I know what I did since it is a very critical part. I plan to insert a carbon tube for a light reinforcement.

Plus I don't like the hassle that comes with the whole sending back procedure.

I keep you in touch.

Best
Alexander
